Sunflower Challenge

Its back for 2017 – Grow your sunflower out of this world!

Big, bold, beautiful sunflowers. What a colourful change after such a grey, wet and windy winter! We’ve been looking forward to the start of our annual competition; this year we’re giving away a bike to the child who grows the tallest sunflower and £250 in horticultural vouchers to their school!

We’ve contacted nearly 70 primary schools in our local area and asked them to take part. But don’t worry if your school hasn’t decided to take part, as long as you’re aged between 5-11 years all you need to do is pop into your local Glyn-Jones branch to register and you will be given your FREE sunflower seeds and growing instructions! The latest date you can register by is 31 May 2017, but remember the sooner you start, the sooner they’ll start growing!

Last year we ran this as a schools competition and the winning school was South Bersted CofE Primary School, their flower grew to an impressive 232cm!
